Easy have more predictable biological patterns while difficult have less predictable biological patterns. Found difference in energy level when activity took place. This pattern of temperamental constructs is consistent across time: following kids from childhood to youth, you"ll find that their classification remains the same in general. Therefore, this is not something you catch on a good or bad day . It is something that is stable and reliable. It matters which group you fall into: followed these kids to see what they were like when they grew older. Many difficult kids were referred for counselling while only a few easy kids were referred. Difficult kids were more prone to developing anxiety disorders. Therefore, temperament at early age predicts later difficulties. Slow to warm up: mix between easy and difficult. 1990 study: difficult infants made up of 24% of children who were seen in a clinical setting but only make up 10% of the population.
