Right temporal lobe special function in extracting pitch from sound regardless if the sound is speech or music: tone helps us understand the emotionality of speech, prosody - tone of voice or pitch in speech. Inability to use contextual information: the context in which we respond to different things (ex: raising your hand on the bus vs. raising your hand in lecture) Altered sexual behaviour: usually, sexual behavior around others is pretty inhibited, with lesions in tl, it is unhibited, (considered inappropriate in social norms) Schizophrenia: auditory hallucinations most common symptom, verbal hallucinations activate primary auditory cortex & broca"s area.
