Sexuality topic 9: non-normative sexuality, paraphilia (wednesday, march 30th, 2016) Paraphilia: a group of persistent sexual behaviour patterns in which unusual objects, rituals, or situations are required for full satisfaction. Egosyntonic: okay, i like this object sexually and i"m okay with that. If there is no personal distress or laws broken, it is a personal question as to whether they should be diagnosed and receive treatment for paraphilic disorder. Optional: can overcome the behaviour, not necessary for sexual satisfaction. Factors to decide whether to diagnose: exclusive or optional: rather do this than not do it, but can be satisfied without it or only this can get the person off, distress causing: to self or others, victims. A lot of people in general male population fantasized about sex with young girls and coercive sex (forced) Fantasy and paraphilia are different things, but fantasy may indicate paraphilia.
