M-m competition is stronger, but f-f competition over males still occurs. Appearance: cosmetic surgery, showing skin, jewelry, age reducing surgery. Women fight mentally: gossip, rumors, derogating competition, cliques. Both men and women rated female faces as significantly more attractive. Females rated male faces less attractive than males rated male faces. Women with high oestrogen levels rated female faces as significantly less attractive than did women with low oestrogen levels, but there was no corresponding difference in ratings of male faces. Women with higher estrogen thought other women were less attractive than women with low estrogen. More fertilizable women are derogating their competitors: women who are competing with me are less attractive (than me) When women have children who have same father, women will compete over males resources. Parallel mating: money/food/territory, paternal time spent w/ kids, social status of kids. Sex that invests less competes for sex that invests more.
