Curiosity: we seek to know and use reason rather than acting on instinct. Culture: we live in community with shared values, ideals, memories. Creativity: we can imagine other realities/futures and can work to create/refashion reality. Narrative tells about disobedience to god and its consequences. For better or for worse, these characteristics make us different from cats. In islam, qur"an understood as the final revelation; bible acknowledge as a holy book but has been corrupted. Qur"an only the qur"an in arabic; translations are interpretations. Bible follows a historical trajectory; starts at the beginning continues chronologically in the narrative sections. Story of creation not referenced again in the ot/hb except to acknowledge. God as creator; reference again in new testament to explain sin.
