Vertical occupational sex segregation: different jobs and different fields, male dominated jobs and fields, female dominated jobs and fields, many of the jobs men find tend to pay more than the ones women find. Paid and unpaid labour are mutually reinforcing: channeling women towards lower paying jobs and towards domestic labour: women at childbearing age may be more unproductive, some employers may be biased or cautious. Childbearing age woman: the person who makes less, is the one who takes care of the baby. Men earn more than women so they end up having to stay home.
