Three different social responses related to this issue. Current - something that is happening right now. A government/state system that seeks to protect the economic and social well being of its citizens. Often thought of as a response to basic social needs that are not met by capitalism. Capitalism provides exploitation, doesn"t provide for everyone"s needs. We need a system to respond to the limitations. Often thought of as directed at the most vulnerable members of a society. "the social safety net" - catch people who are most disadvantaged. Provide, support but throw them back in to become part of the labour market. Spread it out - making it more "equal" Through different types of social policies such as: "policy implies choice, decision making within a range of feasible alternatives. As a society, we make choices (and therefore policies) To do nothing -- is also a policy decision" Depending where you live, there are different decisions to be made.
