Race (intentionally in quotation marks - it is a social construct) Race is an ideology people have created. Does not exist as something classifiable and measurable. A social construction that is used to distinguish between groups of people based on physical characteristics (ex: skin color, personal characteristics, bodily characteristics, blood) A shared cultural heritage among a group of people. Practices, beliefs that groups of people share. May not be tied to race or skin color.
