Both the film 2251 framework and adaptation as translation models have appealing aspects. The film 2251 framework does an excellent job of breaking down an adaptation into organized segments. The film 2251 framework identifies an adaptation"s creative work, alterations made, continuity with the original, the intended audience, as well as the context of the adapted material. By doing this, the film 2251 framework thoroughly deconstructs all the important aspects of creating an adaptation. The adaptation as translation framework does a proficient job of identifying how closely an adaptation follows the original text. The three forms of adaptation translations include literal, traditional, and radical. A literal translation follows the original text as closely as possible, as olivier"s. A traditional translation keeps the main themes of the original text, but has the freedom to make some alterations. Universal"s 1930"s frankenstein, as they keep the main themes and ideas of the original text, but change some characters and details.
