The same hormones enable physical pleasure in both males and females. These are the androgenic hormones, the main one being testosterone which is produced in the testes and ovaries. Men have about 10-15x more testosterone than women. Testosterone increases in boys and girls leading to puberty and then levels off in girls only in early adolescence. Testosterone enables sexual pleasure and physical responsiveness. It does not affect sexual interest or desire. The nature of one"s desire, or a desire to date or have sex with someone is socially produced, not physiologically produced. One indication of this is precocious puberty which is full sexual development at a very early age. Even though fully developed, they typically do not show any early interest in sexual activity. It may lead to an increase in masturbation since this is a natural off-shoot of exploring one"s body. Thinning of vaginal lining and vaginal lubrication in women.
