Grief- encompasses the painful emotions and related behavioural and physical responses to a major loss and the process of adaption and recovery. Acute sudden death; psychological and somatic symptoms (tightness in throat, headache) Delayed occurs later than usual, as a delayed onset (ptsd) Complicated (absence of grief; long- term grief) significantly and functionally impaired by prolonged grief symptoms for at least one month. Myth: the pain will go away faster if you ignore it. Fact: trying to ignore your pain or keep it from surfacing will only make it worse in the long run.
