Achieved status: acquired through one"s own individual acions and accomplishments in life. Status set: combinaion of all statuses for an individual. Master status: overrides other status characterisics in terms of how others view an individual. Status symbols: material items used to display one"s status. Role: cluster of behavioural expectaions associated with paricular social posiion, within a group or society. Role expectaions: socially determined behaviors expected of a person performing a role. Role performance: actual role behavior, though it does not always match expectaions.
