Document Summary
Summary of erik olin wright"s theory (class exploitation): Wright was a neo-marxist meaning that he updated marxist ideas of class analysis in order to make them more applicable to the current society. Wright explains class exploitaion as the key to understanding class analysis and only occurs when the following principles occur simultaneously: Class exploitaion is relaional and both groups of people must interact at all imes. The main concepts embedded in dying hard include class and power. Wright"s understanding of class exploitaion can be used to explain the relaions between the miners and the mining company in dying hard. Inverse interdependence principle: the miners were incredibly poor and many could not even aford food, forcing them to atempt to balance both ishing and mining. The miners staying poor beneited the mining company because they were forced to work long/hard hours regardless of the pay they received.
