He had 200 workmen who also had no experience in excavating. Like schliemann, he interpreted finds based on ancient myths and legends. Wasn"t located on a mountain either, mostly on a plain. The palace of minos was built around this place. The palace is often referred to as the labyrinth . The minotaur, the labyrinth, pasiphae (wife), daedalus, ariadne, theseus. Minos wife develops a passion for a beautiful bull (all white, except for a spot between his horn). Even though she was married to the king, she would sneak off to see the bull. Since the bull is a bull, the bull was only attracted to cows.
