Creates our institutions of government: establishes a legal foundation for main government institutions. Regulates relationships between the branches of government: regulates the roles for each institution and interaction between the institution. And constrains the way in which government interacts with individuals: protecting for certain rights and freedom. Federal level: elected house of commons, appointed senate. Provincial level: elected legislature: have constitutional authorities to make laws in form of legislations. Government officials: pm, provincial premiers and appointed officials (i. e. minister) To carry/ administer laws of legislative branch. 3 work together to make government possible and that constitution is respectd. Many believe that it is one single document. Written: constitution act, 1867&1982, has important provisions about many elements of the constitution.
