The scientific method: a way of learning about the world through observation, developing theories to make predictions. It is used to test theories, create new ones and strengthen existing theories. Creating a pill that will help students do better on exams : objectivity: quantitative method of research where you have two or more quantitative variables from the same group of subjects where a relationship is trying to be found. Scientific procedure is undertaken to make discoveries, test hypothesis and to demonstrate a known fact. The indeptendant variab;e (cause) is manipulated and the dependant variable is measured; any extraneous variables are controlled. We have tried this with other patients and it worked, so it should work on your loved one as wel l. Operational definitions: describes the concept by how it is demonstrated in an observational or measurable way. In other words, an observational definition makes the concept observable and measurable.
