Caesar lombroso: female offender (book: biological factors / sexuality, engage in crime- tend to be physically/biologically diff, excessive body hair/wrinkles, more homogenous - Females: tend to be child-like, immature, and lower sensitivity. Looked at cranial development- female/male criminals- abnormally shaped craniums. Focus on biology: ketabolic- primarily applies to males, males = more aggressive/destructive, males might be more creative at the same time. Wishfufillment - aspirations - desires, path towards goodness/evil. Less emphasis on bio- recognition of social conditions: class element too- middle class- socialized away from deviant roles, crimes of sexuality. Clyde vedder and dora somerville- the delinquent girl. Theme- biology: diff. types of female delinquency, runaway= lives on the street, notes biology and the sexual double standard, critical attention to social conditions/treatment. Sex delinquent girl- young teen multiple partners/maybe preg. / maybe prostitution. Common emphasis in all: hormones, sexuality, irrationality, low intelligence.
