Arche-originary principles: our opinions create valuation and interpretation before even consciously noticing an opinion was made, experience + valuation = opinion, human beings are the measure of things. Of the things they are, that they are. Of the things that are not, that they are not. The idea behind humanism is to embrace the fact that you are human. Hermes: greek god of messages, created hermeneutics. Key points pf the day: what it means to be a humanist, where the universities come from, what history is. Different from other sciences as they focus on quantitative understanding: qualities are measurable. Professional disciplines: medicine (from chemistry-biology), theology (the book), law (code). The humanities look at the horizon of what we know. We have language that allows to intercept the thoughts of things around us.
