If people need affordable housing and they apply, they are told to wait a period of time which may vary from 5 to 10 years. 150,000 households are on the brink of homelessness (paying more than 50% of their income on shelters) Since 1960, homelessness has been growing 6x fast than the overall population; if we live in a society where homelessness grows fast than our population, we are doing something wrong However, the problem is that even if we are lucky, Kathleen wayne wakes up and decides that we need to change the problem, it wouldn"t happen right away anyways; we need a huge number of housing to absorb the backlog. The immediate response, if we have to wait for these houses to be built, what can we do.
