Pem fuel cells are now on the market due to ballard power. If electric current goes through water, it makes a gaseous hydrogen and oxygen. The demonstration of this is to show that the system was generating energy. Grove saw reverse flow of electricity as he disconnects apparatus. A fuel cell combines oxygen and hydrogen to make electricity. When activated it combines chemicals to make power. A fuel cell is not an energy source because you need to make this source of power, whereas you find coal. You need a system that doesn"t exist yet. Nickel alkaline fuel cell - requires nickel catalyst. One bloom box produces enough electricity to power 100 average us homes, a 30000 sq foot office building uses natural gas, recycles heat waste.
