Infants: should be undressed and on their back, feet and legs. Start with feet, work your way up. Foot should be in normal right angle to the lower leg. Metatarsus adductus: forefoot adduction, present at birth 3yrs: hips. Congenital dislocation ortolani manoeuvre: flex knees while in supine position by holding your thumbs at thighs, fingers on hips touvhing greater trochanters. Adduct leg until thumbs touch, lift and abduct legs , moving knees apart and down. Allis test: to check hip dislocation, compare leg length. Palmer creases simian crease: single palmar crease. Plumb line from back of head, along spine, middle of sacrum: legs. Lordosis is common in childhood (cid:373)ore i(cid:374) (cid:272)hildre(cid:374) (cid:449)ith protuberant abdomen. Genu varum: lateral bowing position, more than 2. 5cm space b/w knees, normal for 1yr when after child begins to walk, resolves with growth. Genu valgum: knock knees, span of more than 2. 5cm between medial malleoli when knees are together. Pigeon toes/toeing when child walks till 3yrs.
