Behavioural symptoms: irritability, feeling of dread, feeling nervous , avoidance, escape, freezing, aggression, impulsivity. Anxiety is the immediate response to perceived threat or danger. Actions are aimed at escaping harm either by confronting the source (fight) or by evading it (flight) Amount of fear experienced is in proportion to the threat. Fear response subsides when the threat ends. Concerns are unrealistic; source of anxiety either cannot hurt them or very unlikely to occur.
