Synaptic cleft: the space between the axon of one neuron and the dendrite of another. Neurotransmitters: the chemicals that are released from the axon of one nerve cell and transmit the impulse to the receptors of another nerve cell. Emotion: a subjective feeling of terror , a strong motivation for behaviour (escaping or fighting), and a complex physiological or arousal response. Occurs when rats or other animals encounter conditions over which they have no control whatsoever. Modelling/observational learning: learn by observing what happens to someone else in a given situation. Prepared for learning about certain types of objects or situations through evolution, because this knowledge contributed to the survival of our ancestors. Implicit memory: apparent when someone clearly acts based on things that have happened in the past but can"t remember the events. Implicit cognition: the black box refers to unobservable feelings and cognitions inferred by an individual"s self-report.
