Hoop dreams interactive documentary; mainly focused on interviews and don"t usually include a lot of narration. Until recently it was believed 3 human races were created / evolved separately: caucasoid white ppl, negriod black ppl, mongoloid yellow / red ppl. A divisor of humankind based upon a set of identi able traits that are transmitted generationally, that is through sexual reproduction beshoff / Demonstrated differences in human behaviour not primarily biological but social / cultural. We now know that humans are one race. We are the same at the cellular / genetic level. One race with multiple phenotypes physical characteristics. It was a social decision to make race. Race: entered english language int he 16th century indicating family, linage, and breed. An incorrect scienti c understanding of the word soon emerged, a classi cation category, dividing humans by skin colour and location. The development of these categories parallel and justi ed the development of the trans-atlantic slave trade.
