The partners in a partnership may be: individuals, businesses, interest-based organizations, schools, governments or any combination. Collaboration involves a mutually beneficial relationship between two or more parties who work toward common goals by sharing responsibility, authority and accountability for achieving results. It is more than simply sharing knowledge and information (communication), and more than a relationship that helps each party achieve its own goals (cooperation and coordination). Dialogue is derived from the greek words dia and logos . Dialogue and collaboration: dia means through, logos means word or meaning, the flow of meaning through people a collective way of opening up. Dialogue judgements or assumptions - speaking with others and building on their ideas as we engage in their meaning. Types of collaborations: within social sector, with private sector partners, sometimes with government.
