Many different kinds of work is necessary to support the information society. Exploitation and dangerous work are still prevalent in the network society are necessary to keep going. Not post-industrial" but hyper-industrial" because some of the ways of industry are extremely exploitative. Who benefits, and who"s not? (who owns it?) Looks at problems that arise when the market is given control of the media. Points out that the information society is an unequal society. It studies the way resources and wealth, were produced, manufactured, created and distributed in society. (and how government relate to that)
