Who: the man, his wife and his children (boy and girl), waitress. What: he is clearly pissed off by the fact that she spilt coffee (act), apologizes, and therefore hit her (response) reactions shock smurk condescending, incompetent, over reaction (different levels of violence, verbal, physical) (chocking, hot coffee) The girl, not sho(cid:272)ked, (cid:449)as not surprised, she kne(cid:449) it (cid:449)as going to happen, (cid:862)here we go again(cid:863) The waitress is shocked and just stands there watching her. Lots of people were watching but no one did anything. Message: male voice says this you (abuser, men, viewer/audience) (cid:449)ouldn"t get a(cid:449)ay (without consequence, okay, acceptable,) with it here (public space), you shouldn"t get away with it at home (private). You (cid:272)ould e(cid:448)en (cid:271)reak do(cid:449)n (cid:862)you stupid (cid:271)it(cid:272)h(cid:863) language is harsh nott like (cid:862)hey (cid:271)it(cid:272)h,(cid:863) but blaming her.
