Among adolescent males in low and middle income countries, 1 in 3 deaths are caused by violence. 16 million girls aged 15-19 give birth every year. 3 million girls aged 15-19 undergo unsafe abortions every year. Adolescent girls who give birth are at increased risk for birth complications and also infant/maternal mortality. Health services and interventions: (reproductive and sexual health) Pre and post natal care for adolescent mothers and newborns. Improve access to comprehensive contraceptive information and services. Provide sexual and reproductive health services without requiring parental involvement (especially for safe abortion care)
