Document Summary

His stages are based on justice and fairness. His theory has been question for two reasons: when you look at older adolescents and adults they tend to be in conventional stage, most males stage 4, females stage 3. No other cognitive area where you get sex differences and moral reasoning does depend on cognitive development: theories were based on men and boys because girls and women had confusing answers to the dilemmas. She thought girls and boys reason differently. She developed a way of testing girls and women not about hypothetical dilemmas but real ones. Again looked at not so much what they decided to do but the reasoning behind their decision. Some differences between other guy"s theory: decision center on self. Only take tings that have to do with you into account and don"t take responsibility for these decisions: decision center on responsibility to care for others.
