Document Summary
The women in the city that teach margery about corruption and deception. Alethea, pinchwife"s sister, goes to the theater and socializes. Destabilized because at the exchange she is dressed as a man (breeches roles) and gender roles. Pinchwife, he wouldn"t want to reveal her identity by pulling her away from horner as he kisses her. When pinchwife goes out to the country he"s looking for a pure, obedient, ignorant girl, uncorrupted. The girl (margery) he finds wants to be corrupted and she changes. Others help to corrupt her but she is mostly self-taught. She thinks that her lust is love for horner. Pinchwife locks up margery and she wants to experience it. (suggests that humanity wants what they cannot have) Eventually she becomes a deceiver and sacrifices the reputation of alethea for her own honor. Horner presents dishonorable love in an honorable way. Harcourt presents love but in a dishonorable way.
