When the colony was restored toe new france, it would grow again. The colony became much more of a missionary base. Much of its new immigrants were religious people. The company was still kinda in charge, but didn"t do very much, as it was seen as not profitable. It was financed chiefly then by devout people in france. Thus there was a very roman catholic base. This was about 30 years where the only europeans coming to france were the religious. He was the recently appointed superior general of jesuit missions in new france. In 1632, when he got here, he sent a report - jesuits relations - that would continue on until 1791. His superior recognized that this was a document that would be useful in getting support, so he published it. The former missionaries" - the r collets - ways didn"t work very well.
