Focus is the testing and evaluation of upholstery fabric for household furniture. Knowledge gained through testing will help you evaluate upholstered furniture in the marketplace. Important factors a ecting the quality of upholstery include. Do not have legislation governing upholstery, all standards are voluntary. Furniture is expensive and so upholstery materials must not fade or deteriorate too quickly with use. Depending on windows and light patterns, certain portions of furniture may be regularly exposed to daylight and be vulnerable to fading. Upholstery standards for colourfastness to light are higher than those for apparel fabrics. Durability often depends of the abrasion resistance of the fabric.
