Following the restorative treatment on label, no appreciable change in the appearance of the textile will occur. For woven fabric, no more than 3% shrinkage in either direction. More allowed if max expected shrinkage is stated on the care label. For knit fabric, range is from 3-10% depending on end use. Not more than grew scale 4 contrast for any coloured textile in the garment. Coloured portion of coloured garment shall not exceed grey scale 4-5 contrast. Not more than grey scale 4 contrast on multi bre bands. Exception nylon band, not more than grey scale 3-4 contrast. If requirement for staining cannot be met, can label wash separately . Requirements of the care labelling standard ensure that recommended care procedures do not cause adverse e ects. Label needs to have 1 method of care that works and should include warnings of procedures that are harmful.
