Definition: vulnerable population: people who are disadvantaged, susceptible, or vulnerable to health inequity, injury, disease, or premature death (stamler, yiu and dosani) Socioenvironmental approach: health as a product of sdoh, can boost or be detrimental to health. Resiliency: being in vulnerable situation can eat away resiliency. Age very young, adolescents, older adults vulnerable. Definition - insufficient financial resources to meet basic living expenses. Someone who has steady working income, but income falls below what is considered enough. Absolute not enough to make ends meet. Relative means i"m poor compared to someone else. Subjective - someone thinks they don"t have enough. Have no where to sleep and live. Sleeping rough sleeping outside in public spaces: concealed. Couch surfing, finding somewhere to live temporarily (ex. Not showing up at shelters and sleeping rough: at risk o. Inadequately: sheltered homelessness - occasionally use emergency shelters or regularly use them, hidden homelessness sleeping in cars, couches, friend"s house.
