Dominant genes: the particular characteristics controlled by a gene will be displayed. Humans have about 25,000 genes (less than expected, and about the same as a fruit fly) Recessive genes: the particular characteristics controlled by the gene will only be displayed if the partner gene inherited by the other parent is also recessive. Recombinant dna procedures: enzymes cut dna, put back together. A major limitation of these kinds of procedures is that few behaviours = controlled by single gene.
