Rock slide sealed the cave (closed for 20,000 years: entrance today is at a completely different location, rock slide (accident of nature) helped preserved this cave so well. Paintings look fresh like they were painted yesterday: cal(cid:272)ite (cid:271)uildup pro(cid:448)es that they are(cid:374)"t fraud (cid:894)takes thousa(cid:374)ds of years to (cid:271)uild up over the paintings) Paintings also tell a story: e. g. rhinos fighting each other. Only one human depiction in the entire cave (lower half of a woman: the rest depict animals such as rhinos, bulls, lions, horses. Venus figurines: oldest one: venus of hohle fels. No head i(cid:374)stead there"s a ri(cid:374)g that (cid:373)ay ha(cid:448)e had a stri(cid:374)g looped through it to be worn. Possibly the oldest depiction of any figurine ever. Other things found in hohle fels cave: tiny flute made from vulture bones. 20 miles from the cave, a powerplant produces waste water that heats a building where crocodiles live: there"s (cid:373)uta(cid:374)t al(cid:271)i(cid:374)o o(cid:374)es there.
