Pathogen tops centre for disease control"s list for pathogens to stop. Disease is acquired secondarily to another infection, process, or procedure which involves antibiotic therapy. Disease is typically acquired in hospital because the treatments in hospitals select for this pathogen associated disease. C. dif cile can form spores, which are metabolically dormant so they have no metabolism meaning antibiotics are ineffective because antibiotics rely on metabolic activity. Ph: allows them to go through gi tract. People who get diarrhea get fecal veneers, due to which you get pathogenically contaminated surfaces, resulting in formation of a reservoir of these organisms.
