Coin was placed between the two and struck with a hammer: the highest trained and skilled craftsmen would be the ones to create the dies. Dies made out of the strongest metal at the time iron. World"s first coinage: comes from the ancient place of lydian (modern turkey, coins were taken over from costal greek cities and they were spread across the islands into the mainland and then across the rest of the mediterranean.
