Expectation that slaves were participating in self work and self maintenance aside from their masters. They were actively involved in their self maintenance. They handled goods; food, raw materials for food and cloth etc. With this handle, we see the emergence of slave economy. He would bring meat to people he was assignment to live with. He was so good at this activity that his master noticed. He assigned him to the fishing duty and governing people. They began to sell the fish to people who came to the river at night.
