Aristocracies are lawful because the group of elites govern in the interests of the common good. Oligarchies are perverted because they govern in their own interests, they pass laws or purse objectives that improve their condition without considering the common good. Ranking ordering for aristotle for best regimes are: polity, aristocracy, monarchy, democracy, oligarchy, tranny. We group government based on the relationship between state and society or by their institutions. 3 based form: liberal democracy, transitional democracy, autocracy. Comes from greeks: demo means people & kraite means rule.
