Document Summary

Cross tab presents the association like differences in mean. Assumes iv (column) and dv (rows) are nominal (does not take ordering in account), (cid:271)e(cid:272)ause you"ll (cid:271)e th(cid:396)o(cid:449)i(cid:374)g out i(cid:374)fo(cid:396)(cid:373)atio(cid:374) A tabulation of a variable across categories of the others. Look at distribution across the categories, it is chronology (x has to come before y) Want to percentage down, meaning that getting the percentages within the column aka the percentage of people in one category. Useful so we can read across the rows. When you have just 2 categories of outcome, you need only need to read one row. If you have more than 2 rows, then you have to interpret all of the rows. Cross tab tells you about the association, similar to differences in means, does not tell you whenever if the association is significant. Cross tab is the association, chi square tests if the association is significant (testing the entire cross)
