Primary groups: groups that are defined by emotional attachments, e. g. families, the bonds between people in a primary group are emotional. Secondary groups: groups defined by a practical task, e. g. corporations or businesses. Networks: groups defined by people who know you or who you know, two types of networks. Egocentric network- you know everyone and everyone knows you. General network- you know people, and those people know you and. Group dynamics are various concepts that define group-level interaction. Have to do with how a group leader prioritizes leadership. Task leader- the stereotypical idea of a leader, assigns people to specific tasks and makes sure the group stays on task. Social leader- the type of leader who enhances group morale and makes people feel dandy about themselves. Sometimes the task and social leaders are the same people but sometimes they are separate people: styles. The way in which a leader enacts their role as a leader.
