Long term institutional care: nursing homes, old ages homes, personal care homes. Patterns of use: community care programs and services. Handyman services, sitter attendant, homemaker, adult daycare services, day hospitals for supplemental medical care, senior care centres: patterns of use: Careful use of formal services to complement informal care. Alternative is to more greater need of institutional care giving. Some participants in debate over intergenerational equity call for seniors to give up some of their current benefits. Alternative: widespread adoption of stereotype of greedy greezers : concluding comments. Stratification by class, gender, race, ethnicity and age. Concerned with the ways in which inequalities are distributed within societies. Deals with fundamental aspects of people"s lives. When it comes to access to scare resources, class, gender, ethnicity and age do not operate independently od one another. Lack of independence is captured by the concept of intersectionality or what your textbook calls intersection theory: intersectionality.
