Crime is problematic for many reasons: it restricts our analysis to certain types of behavior (ex. Murder, theft) and much relevant behavior may be ignored. The conception of crime is also problematic because our current definition is based upon a specific theory of crime. Confusion and diversity but there is not a common approach. The term deviance has also caused problems, because it is broad. Some marxists perceive as liberating acts of rebellion against capitalism; conformity as collusion. Functionalists and control theorists perceive institutional restraint as vital to social harmony: in this theory, crime is defined as (cid:498)demonstrated harm to others(cid:499) The sociology of deviance is not a coherent discipline. It"s a common subject: (cid:498)of course, it is conceivable that the claims of one school are valid and. It is also conceivable that there is no single truth(cid:499) Causality (4 minimums) one things that causes another.
