ACCT 2230 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Sampling Bias, Quartile, Standard Deviation

Document Summary

The purpose of this analysis was to compare some of the statistical values between our population and a randomly chosen sample of the total population. To begin, we used a random generating value website (www. random. org) and entered our population as the data set. This gave us our 40 random samples which we used to compare to the overall population. Since our data doesn"t have a lot of variance, we expected to see similar values between our population and sample. Two main measures we were looking to compare was the mean and median of the two respective data sets. The mean for our sample was very close to the mean for our population, with less than ,000 difference between the two which was what we were expecting. Our median, or second quartile, was also pretty close and about the same difference as the two means.
