Document Summary

Similariies in skeletal bone structure in related species. Structural similariies in unrelated species with similar lifestyles. Bat and bird don"t have recent ancestry but are sill similar in wing structure. Penguin (bird) and tuna both have eicient teardrop shapes because of natural selecion. Trait is passed on but over 1000s of generaions in a diferent environment it is no longer selected for and therefore trait is parially lost. Similariies in developmental processes but not necessarily in adult forms from ferilized egg to adulthood. Pharyngeal slits appear in snake, chicken, cat, human and ish as well as tail in early embryo. The adult forms do not look similar at all. Changes in dna are passed on to descendants, therefore dna from related descendants are more similar than their distant ancestors. Species that are similar have similar dna to each other. See which birds have the most common recent ancestry. Africa since that is where the great apes are.
