14 billion years ago we have no idea what anything was like. 13. 7 billion years ago (plus or minus 0. 11 billion years) all the matter that we have around us in the universe was created in a pretty big explosion. 4. 6 billion years ago a giant dust cloud many light years long collapsed in on itself and as it did this its rotational energy increased. The sun formed in the middle and all the matter around it was sorted with the heaviest closer to the sun and the lightest further away. The planets began to form, some with a similar weight gradient (heaviest in the middle). 3. 4 billion years ago: oldest rocks containing fossilised cells found in 2010 (!!) in australia. Prokaryotic cells (a. k. a prokaryotes): simple cells with a cell membrane, cytoplasm, and dna in the center region called the nucleoid region.
