In the third unit of the course we are going to talk about the internet and how it works. The internet was part of a government-funded project called advanced research projects agency. It was designed as a way for universiies to connect to one another and share informaion. Social networking is sending messages online to our friends, but there is so much more. Some examples of social networking are email, instant messaging, wikis, blogs and podcasts, not to menions things like twiter and facebook. This does not need to be facebook or twiter; it can also be movies, online reading books and more. If you have been around computers for a while you will remember when flash showed up. It was this wild new way to show informaion on the web. Around 2007 a new way of producing web content was discovered. It was much easier to program and produced results that were the same or beter than flash.
