In the seventh unit of the course we are going to talk about networks. Networks are a connecion of many computers controlled by a single point. A network in its most basic terms is two or more computers that are connected either by sotware or hardware and that can share informaion between them. Most home networks now are wireless and have a central point called a router where the main internet is fed into. Networks can either be wired or wireless. Wired networks are connected mostly by one of three types of cables, twisted pair, coaxial or now most commonly, iber-opic. Wireless systems send informaion and data through a router to any other point within the network. All laptops and tablet have built in wireless capability. Diferent ways to connect to the internet. All of need some sort of internet service provider. All of these can be wired systems originaing from outside of your residence.
