Cybercrime: any criminal acion perpetuated primarily through the use of a computer. Cybercriminal: people who use computers, networks, and the internet to perpetrate crime. Anyone with a computer and the means to arm themselves w/ the appropriate knowledge can be a cybercriminal. Fbi publishes informaion on cybercrimes and ways of protecing yourself. Thet of computers, smartphones, tablets, notebook computers and other portable computers is considered larceny, not a cybercrime. Some types of cybercrimes: computer intrusion (hacking), child pornography, and blackmail. Fbi-related scams: people pretend to represent oicial organizaions to defraud. Non-aucion/non-delivery of merchandise: running aucions of non-existent stuf, collecing funds and not delivering the goods. Advance fee fraud: convincing individuals to send money in good faith to allow them to receive larger payments in return. Idenity thet: when personal info is stolen (name, birth date, address, sin, bank account and credit card info) and debts are run up under your name. *most inancially damaging, can take years to undo damage.
